Galveston Island Tour Guide

Hi everyone!

I wanted to do share my little girls trip to Galveston that I went on last weekend! Over the summer I did not get too out much because I did work most of the summer so having this little tripped really helped my mindset. I started school this past week and I am so glad I had this time to relax before the school year started. In this blog post we will go over some of the activities and some really good restaurants that I recommend to go check out next time you might be in Galveston or just next time you might go on a beach trip. Also let me know where you went this summer, I love getting ideas on where to travel!

Galveston Island

Where we stayed:

I found a cute little place on Airbnb that was located near downtown Galveston and of course not too far from the beach. Our place was a guest house so you are near the hosts actual home but it was super private and tucked in behind their house where no one bothered you at all. The host was super nice and the place was clean which is what we all want in an Airbnb.

Sugar and Rye

Where we ate:

There were a lot of places that were good and it is hard to pick a favorite, if I had to choose though I would say Sugar and Rye. My friend and I did brunch the morning we left and we enjoyed their sweet coffee and their brunch menu. I ordered the Start your day breakfast plate and it was so tasty and my friend got the blueberry pancakes. We both recommend these dishes because the food was so delicious and the restaurant had friendly staff.

Other places we ate at: Freckleberry Teahouse, The Spot , Rita’s , and Rainforest Café

What we did:

A lot of what we did was the beach, we also rode a Surrey bike one morning along the beach to help wake us up! The view was so pretty because while your riding you get a beautiful view of the beach and of course some good exercise. One of the last thing we did was visit the Strand so if you’re not familiar with Galveston The Strand is like a landmark and all the historic buildings from the 1900s are still there to this day. A lot of restaurants and some good stores are along there as well. We did some shopping while we were there but there’s other fun things to check out at the The Strand while you are in town.

Conclusion:

I really enjoyed this small trip to Galveston it was the perfect way to end the summer! I liked that I was able to relax and read my book for a little bit, before going back to school this fall. I hope you all had a great summer and let me know down below what your favorite vacation was for summer 2024!
